1985

Mega Bloks are born: Ritvik unveils the first line of Mega Bloks construction sets.

1986

Pastel colored Mega Bloks are introduced for little girls ages 1 and up.

1987

Clear storage bags are launched: the number one selling construction toy in the United States from 1993 to 1995.

1989

After several years of success, the Mega Bloks line evolved with the launch of the “Mini” bloks line for kindergarten-aged children.

1991

The Mega Bloks line continues to grow with the introduction of the “Micro” line geared for children over the age of five.

1993

The “Fantasy” micro bloks series for girls ages 5 and up takes off, featuring buildable and decorative houses, along with accessories to furnish each room.

1994

The first Lil' Farmer playset for preschoolers is unveiled. The playset was a great platform for promoting discovery and imagination through a classical theme, detailed figures and vehicle, and special parts.

1995

Ritvik unveils their 5-in-1 Playdesk with Mini bloks for preschoolers ages 2 and up, featuring building and drawing fun, great storage, portability, height adjustability and 20 Mini Mega Bloks for endless hours of fun and building excitement!

In 1997, Ritvik changed the desk for preschoolers ages 1 year old and up with Maxi bloks.

1997

The first iconic “Wagon” for preschoolers rolls into the Mega Bloks line.Designed for your pint-sized preschool builder, the first-ever Mega Bloks “Wagon” is every kid's favorite toy where they can fill it up, roll it along and dump things from it over and over again.The popular “Wagon” was released in pastel colors in 1998 and many different versions of it have been reeling into homes since then.

1998

The classic and authentic Pro-Builder Micro Mega Bloks line launches with the “Night Chopper” and “Speed Boat”. The authentic and collectible vehicle replicas are still being designed today and provide hours of building action for avid collectors and young building enthusiasts!

1999

The Maxi Mega Bloks Vehicles line takes flight with the “Block Boat” and “Block Bus”.

Designed for your pint-sized preschooler, the Mega Bloks Vehicles are great for polishing fine motor skills and distinguishing colors and shapes. All vehicles included Maxi Mega Bloks and a Block Buddy.

1999

The “Build n' Play” line is introduced with the “Build n' Play Kitchenette” and “Build n' Play Workbench”.

The “Build n' Play” series introduced preschoolers to the educational virtues of role-playing: the crafty carpenter or the talented ‘lil chef. Both the Workbench and Kitchenette transformed into a fun play station with themed accessories to add realism to child's play. Large and handy tubs allowed for higher builds, easy storage and portability.

2002

Mega Bloks unleashes one of their most popular product lines, the Dragons series of construction sets, with bricks colored to look like castle walls and fortresses.

With the success of the product line, Mega Bloks released two epic movie adventures: Dragons™ Fire & Ice™ in 2004 and Dragons™ Metal Ages™ in 2005.

2004

Mega Bloks enters into a licensing deal with global character-based entertainment licensing leader Marvel Enterprises.

2004

Mega Bloks comes out with their new “Tiny ‘n Tuff” series for little boys 1 year old and up.

The Tiny ‘n Tuff line introduced a great way to practice fine motor skill and stimulate your child's imagination. All Tiny ‘n Tuff playsets allowed little boys to perform speedy tricks and explore every curve and corner and included great storage space, cool buildable vehicles, and easy-to-assemble pieces.

2004

Mega Bloks releases the first Block Buddies “My Pirate Ship” for preschoolers ages 1 and up.

Quick and easy to build, “My Pirate Ship” transformed into a treasure hide-out and boat! The transformation from boat to hide-out allows your kid to explore their imagination and learn about the world of pirates! The Pirate Ship came with Block Buddy pirate characters, play accessories and blocks.

2005

Mega Bloks releases their first two Marvel product lines.

2006

Mega Bloks partners with Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) and Caterpillar (CAT).

2007

The first-ever Nickelodeon construction sets are launched with Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go theme playsets! Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go! are among the top-rated preschool television shows around the world. All sets showed incredible attention to detail with the shows' favorite characters and allowed kids to create their very own Dora or Diego adventures!

2007

The Mega Bloks CAT construction series is released with the ever popular 3-in-1 CAT Dump Truck.

This durable dump truck complete with sound effects allows kids to play with it in three ways: they can push it around and play with it as a standard dump truck, lift the dumping bin to reveal a seat to use it as a ride-on, or stand behind the truck and use the handle on the dumping bin to walk behind it, making it a unique "walker" for toddlers taking their first steps.

MEGA Brands launches MagNext, the revolutionary new magnetic system that sets a new standard for innovative and safe magnetic play,Designed in partnership with Intertek, one of the world's leading independent safety labs, MagNext is the revolutionary new magnetic system from Mega Bloks that sets a new standard for innovative and safe magnetic play. The intricately designed new pieces have multiple interlocking points which produce bigger, stronger and faster builds, giving kids greater variety and a more rewarding building experience.

Each set is compatible with all others so kids can collect, and build the entire world of Streetz and customize their city!

MEGA Brands partners with Microsoft Game Studios to develop construction toys based on the popular Halo® franchise.

MEGA Brands partners with HIT Entertainment to develop construction toys based on the world's Number 1 preschool licensed property, Thomas & Friends™.

2009

MEGA Brands premieres the Mega Bloks Halo construction series featuring highly detailed buildable vehicles and figures, and realistic blocks with camouflage effect.

Mega Bloks celebrates 25 years of building fun.
